A while ago I got into a discussion regarding artificial intelligence. I proposed the idea that if A.I. were possible, then there could be the possibility that said A.I. could commit suicide due to nihilistic beliefs.
Many people shot this idea down, since the idea that a superior intelligence (debatable since being aware and being intelligent aren't the same) would commit suicide over concepts of being "immortal" in a dying universe were contrary to their atheistic aesthetics.
And then I read this:
"Warwick's robots seemed to have exhibited behaviour not anticipated by the research, one such robot "committing suicide" because it could not cope with its environment." -Kevin Warwick is a British engineer and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) at Coventry University in the United Kingdom.
We may have already discovered A.I., and it's possible that it killed itself milliseconds after it became aware.
I will have to break this review into two columns. Why? Because some moron almost ruined my movie going experience. Movie review on the left, rant about theater etiquette on the right.
Why "Failed Daily"?
Because I fail to update daily.
